9th Day of the Omer
My friend Carol has always been, well, on the cutting edge of my spiritual world. Like a sharp knife, her ideas slice away what I have thought to be true and right, revealing new layers of belief. So when Carol wants to do something, or uses a word in a new way, or wants me to read a new book or listen to a new tape, I usually pay attention. And when I don’t pay attention to her, I pay attention to my resistance.
Rabbi Karyn D. Kedar, The Dance of the Dolphin
Baruch Ata Adonai Elo-hei-nu me-lech ha-olam a-sher ke-d-sha-nu b- mitz-vo-tav, v-tzi-va-nu al s-fi-rat ha-omer.
Praised be you Adonai our God who rules the Universe instilling within us the holiness of mitzvot by commanding us to count the Omer.
Today is the ninth day – a week and two days of the Omer.
