26th Day of the Omer
Words. They describe our dreams, fears and aspirations, moments of darkness and moments of transcendence. Words shape our perceptions. Words are the magical incantations that judge or nurture or defeat or elevate any given experience. By our declaration what happens is rendered as good, bad, frustrating, beautiful, affirming, difficult, loving, or confusing
We say it is so, and so we believe it to be true.
From my chapter in the soon to be released Avienu Malknu by Rabbi Lawrence Hoffman
Baruch Ata Adonai Elo-hei-nu me-lech ha-olam a-sher ke-d-sha-nu b- mitz-vo-tav, v-tzi-va-nu al s-fi-rat ha-omer.
Praised be you Adonai our God who rules the Universe instilling within us the holiness of mitzvot by commanding us to count the Omer.
Today is the twenty-sixth day – three weeks and five days of the Omer.
